Staring At Us

Looking out our 14th floor window, across the full 20-foot width of Thames Street, at our building‘s fraternal twin, 115 Broadway:


Obviously the detail on those carved-limestone heads cannot be seen clearly by anyone who is not in our building on a floor near ours. I’m not sure where the border between thoroughness and fanaticism is when we discuss architectural design, but I think this ornament is near it.
