Flying Like A Stone Eagle

…which is to say, not very well.

Another of our projects has made it to the news: the rather large sculpture over the entry to Fort Jay, on Governor’s Island. We* are working with John G. Waite Associates, Schnabel Conservation, and the National Park Service to stabilize the tall, slender brownstone eagle, cannon and flags.

Honestly, making this sculpture out of brownstone was a terrible idea. Unfortunately, I’m 200 years too late for that opinion to matter.
