The original structure includes long-span heavy timber framing and masonry bearing walls; later alterations include cast iron, wrought iron and steel framing. The existing building, empty for six years at the time of the work, was investigated to review conditions and floor load capacity for the feasibility of reuse.</description>

OSE is examining the floor and roof load capacities as well as the overall structural condition.&lt;br/&gt;Structural repairs and complete renovation of this 1842 marble landmark on Wall Street including movement/vibration monitoring, underpinning, strengthening of masonry and repair of structural cracks.</description>

An initial report written shortly after 9-11 had indicated the possibility of damage to the structure; field examination was able to show that the minor damage found pre-dated the collapses.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;</description>
