Best for NYC: Best Practices

by Don Friedman on November 20, 2015

I had mentioned that we look for businesses that work towards community and environmental goals. We also look for small and local businesses whenever possible. We are a small business with more than 90% of our projects located in our home city; we like dealing with our equals. There are different ways of engage one’s community, and one of the easiest is to use small and/or local businesses as suppliers. For example, the two businesses we deal with every single day – our printer and our delivery service – are small and local, rather than big and national.

Finally, I’m pausing this series of blog posts on the Best for NYC Challenge next week for Thanksgiving. It will resume on Monday, November 30; I may post some long-delayed information on other topics during the break.
